Prayer & Liturgy

“Prepare a path for God so that he can enter your heart.”

Let us remember…that we are in the holy presence of God.

Remembering that we are in the holy presence of God…at the beginning of every prayer, at the beginning of every class, is key to our Lasallian Catholic spirituality.  The spirituality of our Founder St. John Baptist de la Salle, provides us with an understanding that the classroom is the sacred space where we encounter the Lord, through the very act of education.   The Pastoral Office supports the spiritual life of our community—students and their families, Lasallian educators and our whole staff, and alumni.  The “source and summit” of our lives together is our school liturgical celebrations, including Mass, prayer together, celebration of the sacraments.    Some of the ways we practice our faith are:

  • Friday morning Mass at 7 a.m. every Friday that school is in session.
  • Monthly all school Masses
  • Monthly opportunities to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation
  • Daily public prayer
  • Prayer services
  • Opportunities to participate in district-wide activities such as vocation retreats
  • Retreats (see the retreat page for more information)
Please know that we are happy to pray for the needs of our community and the world.  You can email your prayer requests to niblack@newbaoye.com
